Tribute Road Race nominations
The Tribute Road Race Committee is seeking suggestions for this year's honoree. The criteria for this award is simple: We look to honor a person in the community who has worked with the youth in a positive way and helped with their development. If you know of someone who would make a great honoree, send his or her name and address, as well as a brief description of his or her accomplishments, to: The 32nd Annual Tribute Race Committee, c/o The Item, 156 Church St., Clinton, MA 01510, or e-mail us at tributerace@yahoo.com. The deadline is Feb. 26.

Nominations for the Leprechaun Convention
Will be accepted until Feb. 15. Nominations must be submitted in writing and anyone who makes the world a better place to live is eligible. To nominate or to volunteer in raffle ticket sales, contact Ed Sheridan, c/o Sheridan Law Office, 1175 Main St., Clinton. Nominations can be made for the Shellelagh Award, Tommy Grealis Award, which goes to high school seniors, the Martin McNamara V Award which goes to a deserving public servant, or the “Slip” Tierney Award, which goes to an avid benefactor or supporter of the Leprechaun Society.

Annual penny drive
Clinton Community Partnerships for Children will be having a Penny Drive Feb.1 through April 16. Containers may be found at each Clinton Public School office and the Clinton Early Childhood Resource Center. Donations will be used to provide educational enrichment activities for families with young children. For more information, call (978) 365-4218.

Clinton Minor League registration
Clinton Minor League will be holding registration Saturday February 6th, 2010 at St. John’s Gym from 9 am until noon. Clinton Minor League is a recreational league. Special events during the year include our opening day parade, Team photographs, a trip to the Worcester Tornadoes, and our year end cookout/ celebration. Clinton Minor league offers 3 levels of play. Tee ball for children age 4 and 5, Coach Pitch for children age 6 and 7, and AAA for children ages 8,9, and 10. Registration is $60 for teeball, $65 for coach pitch or AAA. Families registering more than one child will pay a $95 registration fee for two or more children. THERE WILL BE NO CANDY SALES THIS YEAR. Tryouts for children moving up to the AAA level will be held in March, date TBA. Questions about Clinton Minor League, call Brian Newton at 978-368-8505 ext:113.

Food and household goods collection
The Clinton Community Partnerships for Children is sponsoring a “Stock the Pantry” food and household goods collection for WHEAT Community Services. Donations of paper-cleaning products, personal hygiene products and cooking-baking supplies will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 12. The collection box can be found at 150 School Street, outside the Children's Gym. For more information, call Pat at (978) 365-4218.

Democratic Caucus
Clinton Democrats will hold a caucus on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. in the selectmen's meeting room at Clinton Town Hall. The purpose of the caucus is to elect delegates to the Democratic State Convention June 4 and 5 in Worcester.

Worcester Chamber Music Society Series
Continues Feb. 14, at 3 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church., with guests appearances by; Orlando Cela, flute; Angel Hernandez, violin/viola; Scott Woolweaver, viola; and Michal Palzewicz, cello. The final concert will be May 14, at 3 p.m. in St.John the Evangelist Church, featuring music by Joe Summer, Roussel, Benjamin, and Brahms, with a guest appearance by Jan Müller-Szeraws, cello. 2010 Winter Gaela
Clinton Gaels Athletic Booster Association will be presenting it First Annual WINTER GAELA on February 13, 2010 at the Clinton Town Hall from 7pm to Midnight. Music and Dancing will be provided by the band Panache. There will be food, drink, raffles and a silent auction. Please join us and see old friends and alumni for a night of fun. Funds raised will offer 2 scholarships at graduation, and maybe more in the the years to come. Funds will also honor out SUPERBOWL Champion Gaels and support all the sports teams at both CHS and CMS to help defray the costs of camps and whatever teams may need. We also want to continue with the SPIRIT BUS for basketball. This was the same bus we ran to bring kids to the out of town football games. Please join us for a fun night of dancing and catching up with old friends. Donations for the auction and raffles will be greatly accepted. Tickets can be purchased by any Booster Board Member and by contacting ClintonBoosters@aol.com
